Jamie Smith-Talwar is on the ASU+GSV Summit program team. She joins the team with a 10-year track record of nurturing teams, enhancing learning outcomes, and building educational products and programs in K-12 – in both schools and the edtech sector. Before joining ASU+GSV, Jamie served as the Director of Education at Subject, where she led the academic product and program strategy. Her leadership was instrumental in developing a robust curriculum product and accredited program that enhanced student engagement. Previously, as the Dean of Instruction at the Noble Network of Charter Schools, Jamie implemented a data-driven instructional strategic plan and coaching strategy that significantly improved instructional quality and student outcomes. Jamie began her career in education as an EL program manager and teacher, where she created programs for language acquisition and integration for newcomer students. Her passion for educational equity and innovation has been the driving force throughout her career. Jamie holds a Master of Education in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Master of Education in ESOL Curriculum and Instruction from Auburn University. She completed her undergraduate studies in Elementary Education at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
