Erin Kane is the Superintendent of Douglas County School District, overseeing 92 schools, 7,400 employees, and 62,000 students. Under her leadership, the district has achieved remarkable success, becoming the top-performing district in the Denver metro area for the first time in a decade. Additionally, employee morale has strengthened, two tax measures were successfully passed, and the graduation rate has risen to over 92%. Before becoming Superintendent, Mrs. Kane was the Executive Director of Schools for American Academy, a public charter school in Douglas County serving nearly 3,000 students across three campuses. She played a pivotal role in founding the school in 2004 and spearheaded its expansion, including the addition of multiple campuses and a preschool program. Prior to her career in education, Mrs. Kane spent nearly a decade in the high-tech industry, specializing in project development, management, education, consulting, and practice management. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration and an engineering degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Colorado. A proud Colorado native, Mrs. Kane has lived in Douglas County with her family for over 20 years.
