
Dr. Elizabeth M. Reilley is the Chief AI Officer for the University of North Carolina (UNC) System Office, supporting the state’s 16 public universities, a high school, and affiliates including healthcare and media outlets. Elizabeth helps guide system-wide and system office strategy for AI adoption by strengthening innovation, operational excellence, and the collective capacity to support student success, academic quality, and public service. A frequent invited speaker in education, technology, and EdTech forums, Elizabeth focuses on practical strategies, evidence-based applications, evaluation, and responsible innovation in AI and data.
Previously, Elizabeth spent over 5 years at Arizona State University (ASU) where she last served as the inaugural Executive Director, AI Acceleration, with Enterprise Technology and prior led work in Data and Analytics. Before her work at ASU, Elizabeth held roles in data and policy analysis, IT and Academic Affairs. She holds a PhD in Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation and an MBA from UNC Greensboro and a BA in Philosophy and Community & Justice Studies from Guilford College.
