Dr. Shawnda Floyd

Dr. Shawnda Navarro Floyd is the inaugural Provost and Vice Chancellor of Workforce Education for Dallas College and is a collaborative, innovative leader with more than 19 years of experience in higher education. Shawnda most recently served as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success for North Lake College, where she worked with faculty, administrators, and professional support staff to assist students in completing their educational goals. During her tenure at North Lake, she pioneered innovations in developmental education (co-requisite remediation), guided pathways, and a redesign of student academic support services via establishing a learning commons. Shawnda’s leadership concentrates on promoting a positive student experience, supporting teaching excellence, championing innovation across the college, and developing strong internal and external partnerships. Shawnda holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Rider University, a Juris Doctorate from Temple University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership with a Community College emphasis from Rowan University.
