Dr. Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre

Dr. Palafox has been Rector (President) of UABC since 2023. He has a doctorate in Computer Science from the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada (CICESE), a master's degree in Sciences with a Specialty in Digital Systems from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) and an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the UABC. He has undertaken several roles at UABC including as a research professor at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Engineering of the Tijuana Campus, where he was also director for two periods, general coordinator of Student Services and School Management, and Secretary General from June 2021 to December 2022. Dr. Palafox has been a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers since 2011.
