Dana Andrews

Past President and Advocacy Advisory Team Lead

USTA Florida

Dana Andrews has been a leading advocate for advancing tennis and equity in sport for more than a decade. As the 2021-2022 President of the United States Tennis Association – Florida Section, Dana spearheaded the organization’s Women in Tennis initiative, focusing on providing more opportunities for women and girls to play and lead the sport of tennis. She became a strong proponent of the organization’s fledgling #AMPLIFY program and has long advocated for adaptive and wheelchair programs across the state. In 2023, Dana was the first person from the State of Florida to receive the USTA’s Champion of Equity award, which was presented at the US Open that year. Following her presidency, Dana continued her push to promote “Tennis for All” by championing USTA Florida’s first-ever HBCU Tennis Program Grant initiative, which provides significant funding for student athletes who play tennis at Florida’s four Historically Black Colleges and Universities. She also leads USTA Florida’s Parks Committee and the Advocacy Advisory Team. Dana’s love for the game of tennis began with her father, B.A. Grubbs, who previously served as President of USTA Florida, making them the first father-daughter duo to hold those roles. B.A. first taught Dana to play on the public parks in Jacksonville. When she is not advocating for tennis, Dana works as a partner in a law firm, Sponsler, Johnson & Andrews, in Tampa, Florida. She spends her free time helping the homeless.
