Cynthia Sistek-Chandler, Ed D is a Professor at the Sanford College of Education for National University, and is currently the Academic Program Director for the MA in Social and Emotional Learning.  Cynthia is a rising academic in the new field of Social and Emotional Learning. In 2019, she co-constructed the first Master of Arts in Social and Emotional Learning. Since 2020, over 150 graduates have conducted practitioner, Action Research. Her upcoming book "Assessing through the Lens of SEL (Corwin, Fall 2023), co-written by Professor Emeritus, Dr. Dee Fabry reflects the unique perspective that assessment pedagogy and practices intersect with SEL. Cynthia is a recognized leader in Educational Technology. In 2020 she was awarded EdTech Digest’s Higher Education Technology Leader of the Year and in 2019 she earned the ISTE and CUE Award for Making IT Happen as well as earning a Gold and Platinum Disk from (CUE) for her lifetime achievements and service to the educational technology community. Since 1999 she has been an early adopter of technology and as a pioneer in online learning has taught online with synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. In 2020, her book, "Exploring Online Learning through Synchronous and Asynchronous Instructional Methods" was published by IGI. As a former elementary educator, Cynthia has strived to humanize all educational experiences embedding SEL across the curriculum and across learning environments, every minute, every day, everywhere.
