
Barry F. Malkin is the Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Learning. An active operator, investor, and advisor to the educational services sector for over 25 years, Barry took on the role of CEO in 2015. Under his leadership, the company has grown in size from 100 employees to over 500 employees, greatly diversified its offerings to include K12 Math, literacy and languages, won 15+ awards for products, including Best Educational Game for MATHia® Adventure, 4 CODiEs for MATHia® and MATHia® Adventure, and 9 Best Places to Work awards consecutively. In 2024, Carnegie Learning was recently named one of the most innovative companies in America by Fast Company Magazine. Prior to Carnegie Learning, he was Head of Corporate Development and Strategy at Apollo Education Group, leading corporate development and strategy for one of the world’s largest educational services companies. His activities included, among others, the acquisition of BPP Holdings, Apollo Group’s largest acquisition and its first foray into the professional education sector; the development of a new post-secondary education joint venture in India with the Hindustan Times, and the establishment of new lines of businesses and products. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Barry has been an active speaker and panelist on educational topics nationally and internationally, and was tasked with assisting the XPrize on the establishment of the Global Literacy Prize. Barry has a Bachelor of Science from American University in Washington D.C. and an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
