Designing Agents for Education

Al agents are becoming the new "front door" for educational workflows- from admissions and student support to faculty productivity. In this session, we'll introduce the core agent patterns in the Microsoft ecosystem and show how institutions can turn education scenarios into working

solutions. You'll learn:

• Agent building blocks, design considerations, and governance basics you need to start creating education-ready Copilot agents.
• The differences between declarative agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot and custom agents built with Microsoft Copilot Studio, and how to choose the right approach for your needs.
• How Model Context Protocol (MCP) connects agents to Education data and services, and how to ground agents in institutional knowledge safely.
