
Dr. Mark David Milliron is an internationally recognized innovator and deeply-respected educator with more than three decades of experience catalyzing positive change and educational transformation through his leadership. He is an award-winning author, speaker, and consultant working globally with government agencies, associations, corporations, universities, community colleges, and K-12 schools. He also serves on a host of boards and advisory councils for leading educational institutions, foundations, and nonprofits, including the Trellis Foundation, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, and more.Dr. Milliron serves as the President and CEO of National University (NU) and is committed to advancing the institution's 54-year history of serving nontraditional, working, and military students through access and success innovation and shaping the future of education by championing next-generation learning, Whole-Human Education™, and value-rich education experiences.Prior to National University, Dr. Milliron served as the senior vice president at Western Governors University and executive dean of its School of Education — the largest college of education in the United States. In addition, he co-founded the student-success advanced-analytics innovator Civitas Learning, served as deputy director for postsecondary improvement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and led as president and CEO of the League for Innovation in the Community College.He has been recognized as a Distinguished Graduate by the University of Texas at Austin, inducted into the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Hall of Fame, featured in the Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the "Top Technology Innovators" in higher education, and named CEO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal. Regardless of his activities and accomplishments, he will quickly tell you that the most important job and the greatest blessing in his life are serving as Julia's husband and father to Alexandra, Richard, Marcus, and Max.
