Eilif Serck-Hanssen has served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and board member of Laureate Education, Inc. since January 2018. Under his leadership as both CEO and director, a dual role that has enabled him to carefully align strategy with execution, he has delivered exceptional results while maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance. Laureate Education is the largest private higher education provider in Mexico and Peru operating five institutions, serving over 470,000 students across more than 50 campuses and online, with more than 30,000 employees.During his tenure as CEO and board member, Eilif has delivered transformational shareholder value: LAUR's share price has increased approximately 200% since early 2023, with fiscal year 2024 revenues of US$1.567 billion and a historic adjusted EBITDA margin of 28.7%. His ability to serve in both capacities has been instrumental to the company's success, enabling seamless integration of board-level strategic oversight with operational execution excellence.Before joining Laureate, Eilif served as Chief Financial Officer and President of International Operations at XOJET, Inc. and was part of the founding team of premium airline Eos Airlines, Inc. where he held the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Earlier in his career, he held several senior executive positions at US Airways, Inc. (now American Airlines, Inc.) and Northwest Airlines, Inc. (now Delta Air Lines, Inc.), including serving as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of US Airways.Prior to his airline industry experience, Eilif spent over five years with PepsiCo, Inc. in various international roles and three years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (formerly Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte) in London.He is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Eilif earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, a B.A. in Management Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury (United Kingdom), and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
