Vivian launched and leads impact investments at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). CZI is a philanthropy that pairs engineering with grant-making, impact investing, and policy work to help build an inclusive, just and healthy future for everyone. Vivian is a director of Andela and BYJU'S, and a board observer of Emeritus and Descomplica. She serves on the impact advisory board of Handshake and previously Ellevation Education (acquired by Curriculum Associates). Other education investments she has led at CZI include Age of Learning, Brightwheel, NewGlobe, Newsela, Lovevery, MasteryConnect (acquired by Instructure), Trilogy Education (acquired by 2U), and Varsity Tutors (NYSE: NRDY). Vivian has over two decades of experience in venture capital and private equity. She was previously at an Asian family office and an investor at TA Associates, Accel Partners, and at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners Asia. She holds an MBA from Harvard University, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in history, Phi Beta Kappa, and a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in finance, Beta Gamma Sigma. She serves on the Wharton Undergraduate Executive Board and the Harvard Business School Northern California Alumni Advisory Council.
