Matthew Muench is Executive Director and Head of Jobs & Skills for JPMorganChase Corporate Responsibility, leading a team of grantmakers and collaborating with the company's HR and business leaders, and impact investing team, to expand economic opportunity. Previously he served as Chief Impact Officer and SVP of Talent Solutions for P33 Chicago, where he launched and managed the Chicago Tech Talent Alliance of executives from 50+ companies, and led a team developing talent solutions to grow the city’s technology economy and improve diversity and inclusion in high-wage tech careers. Before P33, Matthew was the City of Chicago’s Director of Workforce Innovation, serving both Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Mayor Lori Lightfoot in their efforts to build college and career pathways, meet businesses’ talent needs, and help struggling Chicagoans find quality jobs. He spent the prior seven years as a philanthropy executive, including on the founding team of Ballmer Group Philanthropy, and earlier as Program Director at the Joyce Foundation’s Employment Program, where he oversaw strategy, grantmaking and partnerships focused on tech innovation and business practice change to help more people thrive. He began his career as an advisor to aerospace and defense companies, with special focus on market entry and growth strategies, opportunity identification, and M&A. He holds degrees from The University of Michigan (MBA), London School of Economics (MSc), and Tulane University (BA).
