Dr. Simone Wright is a passionate educational leader committed to leveraging education as a powerful tool for student success. Her philosophy, shaped by extensive experiences in urban contexts (e.g. Houston and New York City), focuses on developing leaders and teachers to drive meaningful change in schools and communities. Currently serving as the Chief of Academics for Denver Public Schools, Dr. Wright is dedicated to ensuring that learning experiences accelerate students' trajectories, with a particular focus on historically underserved and underestimated student populations. Her previous roles within DPS, including Executive Director of Universal School Supports and Associate Chief of Academics, have given her a comprehensive understanding of the district's needs and potential. Dr. Wright's academic background, including a bachelor's degree, in Chemistry, from the University of Georgia and a doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education, provides a strong foundation for her work. She brings this wealth of knowledge and experience to her role, continuously striving to create educational environments where all students can thrive.
