Based in San Francisco, Tom is the CEO and co-founder of Forage. After completing law school at The Australian National University, Tom wasn’t sure where to start his career and (unconvincingly!) chose to become a corporate attorney at a global law firm. Quickly, he realized that a career in corporate law wasn’t for him, but lamented that he didn’t have the tools to discover that before committing to this career.
With his co-founder Pasha, Tom left the law to solve this problem by building Forage. Forage is changing the world of career discovery by partnering with leading global companies to create free open-access online training courses for college students. These courses allow students to road-test careers before the hiring process, giving them the skills, confidence and visibility to discover and land the roles which align with their passions and superpowers. Forage’s partner companies are focused on preskilling talent before the recruitment process to build and nurture a pipeline of high-intent, diverse, work-ready candidates.
Backed by Lightspeed Ventures, ASU, SemperVirens and others, Forage has now launched over 120 courses with companies including Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Electronic Arts, SAP, GE, BCG and others. Over 1.5 million students have enrolled in Forage courses with courses running in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia.
