Theodore Sutherland is deeply passionate about transforming education to develop ethical and competent leadership. He’s currently on sabbatical in Boston, advising edtech investors and edupreneurs, and experimenting with creating tools that help adults navigate life transitions. Over the past decade, he’s built some of Africa’s leading companies which have raised over $350M to develop millions of youth from 45 countries into entrepreneurs, professionals and leaders. Theodore was Head of the African Leadership University’s (ALU) flagship campus in Mauritius, ranked as one of the top 40 most innovative organizations globally by Fast Company. Prior to ALU, he led the Africa Careers Network, overseeing the return of graduates from African Leadership Academy and MasterCard Foundation’s Scholars Program to launch their careers in Africa. Theodore shares his experiences in business operations, GTM and strategy with edupreneurs as a venture partner at Future Fund for Education, and as an advisor to the MasterCard-Foundation sponsored tertiary network developing 100 exemplary universities in Africa.
