Malala Fund

Suzanne Ehlers has served as CEO of Malala Fund since February 2020. Suzanne works closely with co-founders Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai a highly regarded board of directors and a global team to advance progress toward girls’ education around the world. Prior to her appointment at Malala Fund Suzanne served as President & CEO of PAI a global leader in the fight for the reproductive rights of women and girls. Earlier in her career Ms. Ehlers was a grantmaker at Wallace Global Fund where she supported a portfolio that broke new ground in the fields of sustainable forestry consumer labeling and climate change. Suzanne is regarded as a common-sense convener a tireless fundraiser an innovative grantmaker and a builder of excellent boards. Suzanne is a current board member for Ibis Reproductive Health; an Advisory Board member for the Global Education Monitoring Report; a board member for the Adolescent Girl Investment Plan; and on the Global Advisory Council of WomenLift Global Health. She repeatedly served on the U.S. government delegation to the United Nations’ Commission on Population and Development under President Obama and was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2012. Ms. Ehlers was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Central African Republic (CAR) following graduation from Cornell University. She is an avid walker and baker. She grew up in Texas and now resides in Washington DC with her husband two daughters and two dogs.
