Performative Speaking

Robbie spent the first 7 years of his career as a trial lawyer in Dallas, Texas where he tried 102 jury trials on cases like manslaughter, murder, and child abuse. He coached the national mock trial team at SMU Law School for the past 4 years where he teaches the Persuasive Speaking Advocacy Course. With this experience he entered into the creator economy after finding the power of online education and community from people like Jack Butcher and David Perell.

In the fall of 2020 he launched his cohort based course called Performative Speaking with 35 students. The course is based on his philosophy and system he used as a successful trial lawyer but applying it to a tech and entrepreneur audience. As he continued to create content, take part in various online courses and communities, and build out his own program he found himself acqui-hired by On Deck to experiment with Performative Speaking inside of that ecosystem.

After a successful cohort with over 100 students, he stepped back into his founder and entrepreneur shoes to continue building his community, course, and business independently. He works as a consultant, coach, and advisor to founders, entrepreneurs, and creators looking to become powerful speakers, captivating storytellers, and masters of strategic communication.

Realizing how difficult launching a course and then scaling it can be, he joined with two other co-founders and course creators, Andrew Barry and Marie Poulin, to create The Course Creators Collective. This 12 month accelerator program helps the next generation of course creators turn their knowledge and expertise into a transformational online course. Online education and the creator economy changed Robbie’s life. Now he wants to help other people do the same.
