Mr. Alphonse is a Senior Partner and Co-Founder of The Vistria Group (“Vistria”). Vistria is a private equity investment firm with over $5.0 Billion in committed capital and a focus on building market leading companies in education, healthcare, and financial services. Mr. Alphonse co-leads Vistria’s Education Practice and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Edmentum, FullBloom and MSI Information Services and is a former board member of Penn Foster.

He also serves as a board member for the University of Chicago Medical Center, P33 Chicago, and Window to the World Communications, Inc. ((WTTW) Chicago’s PBS Affiliate). Previously, he served as commissioner (Mayoral appointee) with the Chicago’s Community Development Commission and as a trustee and member of the Executive Committee for the Roxbury Latin School in Boston.

Prior to joining Vistria, Mr. Alphonse was a Principal at a private equity fund with approximately $6.0 Billion in assets under management. There he focused on investments in education companies. He previously served as a director for Educate, Inc., Educate Online and Infilaw Holding, LLC. Previously, Mr. Alphonse worked at Knowledge First, Thomas Wiesel Partners and investment firms McCown De Leeuw & Co., and Musa Capital Advisors Ltd. (Kingdom Holdings). He started his career as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Co. Mr. Alphonse received an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduation School of Business.
