Linda Burch is a co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Common Sense Media, the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids thrive in today's ever-evolving digital world. Linda leads Common Sense’s strategy, education, and development efforts and oversees its regional offices. She is the architect of Common Sense Education, spearheading the development of its K-12 Digital Literacy and Citizenship curriculum as well as its Ed Tech ratings platform, now used by over 1 million teachers in 95,000 schools across the US and around the globe.
Prior to Common Sense, Linda’s career included roles as a biotech executive (’91-97), a strategic management consultant at McKinsey & Company (’86-90), and an investment banker at Bear Stearns and Merrill Lynch in Beijing (’79-84), where she negotiated joint ventures between US technology companies and the People’s Republic of China. She received her MBA from Stanford and her bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from Yale.
