Dr. Lillian B. Schumacher became Tiffin University’s (TU) 6th president in Jan. 2016; the first female President in TU’s history.  A Bachelor of Science in economics graduate of Allegheny College, she has earned two Master’s Degrees (one in Organization Development and another in Higher Education Administration) and a Doctorate in Leadership Studies from Bowling Green State University. She has more than 35 years of experience in higher education and corporate environments in the areas of leadership, teaching, strategic planning, and transformational change, having served in several leadership roles throughout her career.  She serves or has served on the boards of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO), Ohio Foundation for Independent Colleges (OFIC), Webster Industries, and Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership.  In addition, she has served in various leadership positions for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) where she currently serves as a mentor, she is a former board member for the European Council for Business Education (ECBE), and the Industrial Manufacturing Council (Past President). In 2016, Dr. Schumacher was awarded the Women’s Career Excellence Award by the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce.

President Schumacher has lived and traveled extensively throughout the world, Europe, Asia and the Middle East in particular.
