Kyla Haimovitz is passionate about using social sciences to create more equitable learning opportunities for those most marginalized by the education system and has spent years in philanthropy academia and nonprofits to achieve this end. She currently serves as the Director of Education Technology at Digital Promise a nonprofit dedicated to accelerate innovation in education. There she works with the Learner Variability Project to help organizations integrate research-based whole learner insights and strategies into their products and programs. Prior to Digital Promise she served as the senior learning engineer at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to support grantees and product development teams through inclusive evidence-based design. She has led research on how to design more motivating learning environments at Character Lab Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania. She received undergraduate and doctoral degrees in psychology from Reed College and Stanford University.
