Dr. Katie McClarty is the Vice President, Research and Design at Renaissance Learning where she oversees research, psychometrics, and content design and development for assessment, practice, and instruction products. Previously Dr. McClarty was the Chief Assessment Officer at Questar, and she was Director of the Center for College & Career Success at Pearson. Her expertise includes assessment design, college readiness, standard setting, and gifted and talented education. She is co-editor of the book Preparing Students for College and Careers: Theory, Measurement, and Educational Practice (Routledge, 2017). She is a recipient of the 2013 Charles F. Elton Best Paper Award from the Association of Institutional Research and the 2015 Best Paper Award from the National Association of Gifted Children. Dr. McClarty earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and her MBA from the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota.
