Jon Samuels

Jon Samuels thrives at the intersection of purpose and profit. He joined Vistria in 2014 leading the innovative firm's impact investing and policy strategy for the healthcare, education, and financial services sectors. Today, with nearly $10bn in AUM, Jon co-heads Vistria's Portfolio Resources Group, which is focused on driving value creation planning, strategy execution, and growth across Vistria's portfolio. Together with a consortium of research partners, Jon is developing tools for measuring societal impact. Prior to Vistria, Jon served nearly two decades at the highest levels of the U.S. Government. Most recently, he served on President Obama’s senior White House staff as Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. Before the White House, Jon served in a range of leadership roles in management, policy, and communications for members of the leadership of U.S. Congress, including Senior Chief Deputy Whip Rep. Jan Schakowsky (IL) and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (SC).With his experience in public service and private equity, Jon understands the value and opportunity at the intersection of the public and private sectors to scale great businesses, create quality jobs, and generate positive outcomes for the communities they serve.Currently, Jon serves on the board of the Moran Center for Youth Advocacy, as an executive mentor for the Baumhart Scholars MBA Program at Loyola University Chicago's Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility, and
