Research and Content Strategy Lead for Google Kids & Family
Dr. Jennifer Kotler Clarke is a social/developmental scientist with expertise in children and adolescents’ engagement with and learning from media and technology. She currently leads the Kids and Family UX research and content strategy teams at Google. She and her team are dedicated to using research insights and applying learning science to help craft safe delightful and enriching digital experiences for youth and those who care for them. Prior to her role at Google Jen worked at Sesame Workshop (Sesame Street) for 16 years. Her last position was as the Vice President of Content Research & Evaluation. She led a team of researchers who along with product work spearheaded studies designed to illuminate issues important for children’s positive development. Jen has been interviewed by a variety of media outlets publishes in academic journals and popular press and has been invited to keynote conferences and events in several countries. Jen received a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University a master’s degree from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Jen is an avid bird watcher and photographer on a mission to visit all of the units of the National Park system and likes to present research results and other information in song!
