TeachUNITED

Heather co-founded TeachUNITED.org with a focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals rooted in 20 years of experience in public education and innovation. Her team’s mission is to ensure millions of children in rural and remote areas receive a high quality education by prioritizing access to teacher training. During the covid crisis, TeachUNITED grew 10x to help lessen equity gaps resulting from the sudden shift in education, with programs operating across the US, Latin America, and East Africa.

Prior to TeachUNITED, Heather was a founding school principal launching a nationally-recognized, pioneering K-12 hybrid school.  She is currently a Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation Entrepreneur and Cordes Fellow, where she participates in a portfolio of social innovation and global education leaders. Her work has been featured in case studies published by the Christensen Institute, Evergreen Education, EdWeek, and Forbes. She has been a keynote speaker, trainer, and consultant for school districts, edtech companies, start-ups and multiple non-profits with a focus on program sustainability, leadership development, and increasing student outcomes for communities around the world.

Heather received her Master’s in Education Leadership and Reform from Colorado State University and her Bachelor’s in Science Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
