Dr. Roberta Scott
Director Social/Emotional Learning and Student Discipline
Dr. Roberta Grace Scott is a distinguished passionate educator with 18 years of expertise in administration and teaching. She has successfully educated and empowered students to succeed despite their obstacles. Dr. Scott currently serves as the Director of Social/Emotional Learning & Student Discipline department in Houston Independent School District the 7th largest school district in the nation. The opportunity for her to lead this work in efforts to dismantle the school to prison pipeline and build better lives for students affected by mental illness is gratifying. She has experience working with districts across the country where she supports emotional psychological and the social needs via a Multi-Tiered Systems to decrease disproportionality amongst black and brown students and increase academic performance at K-16. Dr. Scott also currently serves as Adjunct Professor with Texas Southern University. Through her ability to coach and develop others she’s been able to move school systems forward push educators past their limits and provide experiences to treasure for a lifetime. Dr. Scott serves on multiple boards including The Way Home (TWH) Continuum of Care (CoC) Steering Committee. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Houston Greater Women’s Chambers of Commerce American Psychological Association the National and Texas Alliance of Black School Educators and Houston Livestock Rodeo Lamb and Goat Committee.
