Osmosis delivers medical education resources to learners worldwide via its YouTube channel which has more than 2 million subscribers; the Osmosis.org platform which has more than 1 million registered users; free, accredited courses on COVID-19 offered through Coursera and Teachable which have reached over 100,000 learners; and partnerships with over 125 academic institutions.
Before Osmosis, Derek was President of Ultimate Medical Academy, an online healthcare training and continuing medical education organization committed to equipping and empowering students to excel in healthcare careers. The institution achieved industry leading student satisfaction scores and developed employer partnerships with prominent national and regional healthcare companies. Prior to becoming President, Derek was the founding executive and first employee of the organization's online education division that eventually was responsible for over 85% of the organization's revenue.
Earlier, Derek was an Executive Director of Marketing at Kaplan, Inc., a diversified educational services provider. Prior to Kaplan, he was an Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell, an international law firm. At Sullivan & Cromwell, Derek had a focus on healthcare companies and transactions. Derek started his career as a judicial clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
