Dr. Deb L. Morrison is an activist-scholar engaged in collaborative design partnerships from local to global scales focused on mobilizing and accelerating just climate action. She is the founder of CLEAR Environmental a research scientist at the Institute for Science and Math Education at the University of Washington and a collaborative partner on numerous climate and justice related educational efforts including Washington state’s ClimeTime and Climate Teacher Ed Collaborative the Smithsonian’s NESST Network the UN ECOS Community. Deb seeks to ensure justice is held foundational in all climate and science learning and empowerment activity. She is a well published author from articles for kids and educators to policy statements research papers and books. Her 2021 Empowering Climate Action in the United States book coauthored with Tom Bowman highlights collaborative national thinking on climate justice and empowerment. More about Deb’s work at
