Deanna Parker serves as an Occupational Analyst for Solutions for Information Design LLC (SOLID) where she focuses on research and analysis projects related to military and civilian occupations and credentialing. She is currently leading a project that is focused on developing a learner credit analysis tool that will aid academic institutions in awarding accurate and equitable credit for servicemembers. Prior to SOLID Parker served as the Program Manager with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) for nearly 5 years on the entrepreneurship team and oversaw all facets of numerous national programs that train veterans and military spouses to be business owners. Here Parker also developed the curriculum for IVMF’s first virtual entrepreneurship training course. Parker is a USMC Veteran and served in various roles including legal chief and transportation dispatch chief before leaving the military as a Sergeant. She received more than a dozen honors and was deployed to Afghanistan and North Africa. Prior to her military service Parker was a K-12 Health and Physical Education Teacher during the school year and in the summers served as the Program Director for a youth camp where she planned and implemented all elements of the summer program for residential campers ages 8-18. Deanna holds a B.S. (dual degree) in health and physical education K-12 and biblical theology from Clarks Summit University PA and an M.S. in criminal justice from Marywood University PA.
