Bradley Leon is the executive director of BlueSky Institute an innovative educational program that allows students to earn a degree in computing and a job at BlueCross BlueShield Tennessee in 27 months.Prior to his time at BlueCross Blue Shield Tennessee Brad served as the chief of strategy & performance management for Shelby County Schools in Memphis where he directly managed several key district priorities including the iZone the district’s strategic planning process “Destination 2025” a blended learning pilot in 18 schools and the design and implementation of a comprehensive performance management system.Brad initially made the move to Tennessee in 2006 where he launched Teach For America in Memphis in 2006 and Teach For America Nashville in 2009; both locations became two of Tennessee’s strongest teacher preparation programs as reported by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC).Brad’s passion for education began in the classroom where he taught 8th grade language arts and social studies in New Orleans Public Schools. His devotion to his students and their families led him to being voted “Teacher of the Year” by his fellow teachers.Outside of work Brad is an avid reader a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner and a devoted husband and father. A graduate of Occidental College & the Maxwell School at Syracuse University Brad lives in Chattanooga with his wife Courtney their sons Charles and Sam and their dog Roosevelt.
