Strategic Nursing Advisor


Dr. Beth Cusatis Phillips is the Strategic Nursing Advisor with ATI and Ascend Learning. Beth provides thought leadership across the country on nursing education topics. In addition Beth provides expertise in product development and educator support. Prior to joining ATI Beth spent 16 years at Duke University School of Nursing as Associate Professor and the Director of the Institute for Educational Excellence. Beth taught in the ABSN and MSN programs at Duke. Beth spent 9 years at Vance -Granville Community College where she taught and directed the ADN/LPN programs. Prior to that Beth worked for 13 years at UNC Hospitals and Vidant Hospital in surgical-trauma Intensive care and medical surgical care. Beth received her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee MSN from Duke BSN from East Carolina University (NC) and her ADN from Waukesha County Technical Institute (Wi). Beth’s educational/research interests include faculty orientation and development professional identity in nursing Diversity Equity and Inclusion in Nursing and student success.
