Dr. Barbara Logan Smith is passionate about creating equity, belong, and grace in our communities and institutions. She proudly serves as the Chief of Equity & Belonging for Teach For America and leads the experiential training and facilitation services of Exponential Development Group as Chief Learning Officer and Executive Trainer. With over 25 years as a dedicated educator and master trainer, Barbara generated impact and built capacity in over 15,000 educators, business executives, and leaders on a national scale. She began her career as a teacher and administrator with the brilliant children of Milwaukee Public Schools and previously served as Vice-President of the Efficacy Institute and as adjunct faculty, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership, management, and business for the university. Dr. Barbara’s capacity to generate meaningful impact and support leaders in corporate and nonprofit organizations is bolstered by her experience as an educator and executive, as well as her educational training. After earning her B.S. degree in Education (K-8) and Psychology from Lakeland College and an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, she earned her Ph.D. from the School of Education at Cardinal Stritch University in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service. She creates equity and belonging interventions at the systems level and also facilitates diversity, equity, and inclusion seminars nationally.
