Student success is now an institutional priority, but the uncomfortable truth is that helping more students thrive is hard. What are leading universities doing to expand their support for students, both on-ground and online? What can virtual and in-person efforts learn from each other? What ways can technology play an even greater role in raising retention and eliminating achievement gaps? The session will include three university officials and be an interactive conversation with the audience led by a Chronicle of Higher Education journalist, focusing not only on what’s going on now, but what the road ahead will be for student success. In addition, it will draw on The Chronicle’s partnership with the Ascendium Education Group to explore student retention and persistence with college leaders.
