Using the Full Spectrum of Evidence of Student Growth: an Outcome-Based, High-Velocity Design Lab

Will your current use of assessments enable K-12 students to develop core academic skills AND the essential 21st-century skills they clearly will need to thrive after high school? The testing data valued by accountability systems provides some value – but not nearly everything educators and students need. What if we could use the full spectrum of evidence of student growth across complex capabilities, including powerful qualitative and narrative impact data – including the reflections of the students themselves? In this interactive workshop, in groups guided by NGLC’s pioneering educator-grantees and partners in the national Full Spectrum of Evidence project, participants will explore how schools nationwide are making good use of the “full spectrum” right now, and envision introducing that spectrum the day they arrive back in their schools.
