The Future of Higher Education A.D.

The pandemic has disrupted the centuries-old model of higher education like nothing before. While micro-credentials and short-courses were something private sector providers were embracing before Covid-19, few four-year institutions had considered them. Now, partly due to the required move online during the pandemic, and partly due to student and consumer demand, universities are working out how to offer shorter, more flexible, credit-bearing courses to a wider pool of students. Who are the the leading institutions developing these programmes and how are they doing it? How do these courses fit into the traditional higher education curriculum? What role will blockchain technology play in giving students more autonomy over their credentials? What opportunities are there to partner with the private sector to build these programmes and validate them with employers?
