Shifting Power Dynamics in Education to Learn With and From Youth

As our country struggles with the dual epidemic of fake news on the one hand and anxiety-filled disengagement from school on the other, young people have stepped up to create educational media companies to highlight and spread the power and importance of truthful information for changemaking. This intergenerational workshop will have three parts: 1) introductory remarks by Esther Wojcicki, author of How to Raise Successful People and founder of the Alto High Media Arts Program 2) A panel of youth media executives and 3) A workshop in which youth will lead the adult participants in exercises of "unlearning," i.e. of practicing the art of letting go.
