This session is intended for individuals in organizations who want to change from a centralized decision philosophy to a decentralized leaderful culture in which Deans and Department Chairs have the ability to make decisions that should produce better student outcomes. For years, academic affairs have run their programs without a solid foundation in operations, budgets, strategies. Without access to financial data, student data, external insights, change management and project management, decisions are made for academic affairs and not by academic affairs. At National University, there is a close partnership between academic affairs and the office of strategy and sustainability to provide the solid foundation of insights resulting in better holistic decisions which ultimately improve student persistence, graduation rates and career success. They will be discussing how this approach empowers academic affairs to better maintain their portfolio of programs and better align resources.
