Mohsin Hamid is a British-Pakistan writer known for riveting novels that explore war, class, corporations and globalization through personal stories. Hamid’s writing draws on his own experiences not only growing up in Pakistan and the US, but also working at McKinsey and graduating from Ivy League universities. He also writes nonfiction essays, with topics ranging from politics to literature. Hamid’s writing has appeared in publications such as the New York Times; he has received a long list of honors and two of his books were shortlisted for the Booker Prize. In this fireside chat, we will discuss Hamid’s own education–both in and outside the classroom–and how that has shaped his views of this Brave New World.
