Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities represent only 20 percent of all educational institutions in the nation. However, they are instrumental in educating nearly half of all Latino and Black students, and increasing the college completion rates among these student populations, many of whom are first-generation college students or students experiencing poverty. Join Nancy Gonzales from Arizona State University, Eloy Oakley from College Futures Foundation, and Michael Sorrel from Paul Quinn College as they discuss the critical role of these institutions in the national educational landscape, and what other colleges and universities can learn from this intentional work to scale their own efforts to advance equity in education.
