Spreading the opportunity to learn increased rapidly 500 years ago with the invention of the printing press, educations first enabling technology. Now in the internet age, a variety of technologies, such as adaptive courseware and intelligent tutoring, are at the forefront of not only scaling access to higher education, but also improving the quality of education received by people around the world. The panel will discuss where those technologies are most critical and how, if designed well, have the potential to improve equitable outcomes where other interventions have failed.
